The Manager, AKA Kawakami, is the brains and visionary behind Momoiro Clover Z. While his outward appearance may appear weak and feeble, there is more to him than meets the eye. With a will of steel and sheer determination he was able to unify five cosmic entities into the perfect group, thus creating Momoiro Clover Z. There are few who would argue that that is not a feat to be impressed with. He even had the foresight to document every move of their early careers, knowing fulll well that those videotapes would one day be very prized. These tapes are currently safely in storage in The GOUNN Archives.
The Manager takes a great interest in the sport of pro wrestling, which leaves its mark on many areas of the Momoclo universe. The heralding of their names at the start of their concerts, coreographies, and partnerships with various wrestlers are just some examples of this.
He will often make appearances during Momoclo's concerts. Sometimes to make announcements, sometimes to give the girls power when they need it, but usually simply because he can.
Relationship with Hyadain[]
Hyadain was one of the earliest songwriters for Momoclo, and The Manager and he were like brothers. However, shortly after the release of Fifth Dimension, for reasons unknown, things turned sour between the two. Several years would pass, and their grudge against each other would grow ever deeper. This culminated in 2015, when Hyadain struck both The Manager and Reni Takagi, live on TV. The Manager subsequently challenged him to a wrestling match, which would take place during Tohjinsai 2015. This was a spectacular mistake from his side, since it turns out that having an interest in wrestling is not the same as being good at it, and he was defeated. However, some mistakes can have unexpected outcomes. At the end of the match Hyadain and The Manager were able to set aside their differences and partner up once more, just like in the olden days.
Associated staff members[]
Even though The Manager is main driving force behind Momoclo, he has a number of staff members to aid him in his daily duties. His closest associate, and heir to the role of Manager is Furu-chan.
The Manager also heads up The Board, where he is Chairman. The Board makes many of the administrative decisions for the band, such as creating a budget for the various departments.
Apart from being in control of the Momoclo section, he also works closely with other Managers at Stardust. Due to his immense success with Momoclo, he is seen as somewhat of a celebrity by other Managers.
